Lechonia

The village is called Ano Lechonia, while Kato Lechonia is the seaport. We do not know exactly when these villages were built; however, they are reported in history since the early 13th century. Of course, on the hill of Nevestiki, just outside Ano Lechonia, there are the ruins of Methoni ancient city’s acropolis.

In Kato Lechonia you can enjoy endless walks on the beautiful beach and the settlement of Agios Minas.

Visit also the Church of Agios Georgios, which was built in 1917 by Dimitrios Papadopoulos, who offered 8,000 gold sovereigns for its construction. The train of Pelion starts from here.
