Monastery of Sourvia

The Monastery of Sourvia is located in north Pelion, just a short distance south of the village of Kerasia. It is a walled monastery built in the 16th century. The church is dedicated to the Holy Trinity and has remarkable frescoes. Two centuries later, Saint Gerasimos the Young became owner of the monastery. The monastery played an important role in the Greek War of Independence.
